Exploring New opportunities for Cooperation and Jointly Creating a New Chapter of Development - the Delegation of the UKM Visited Yantai High-Tech Zone for Inspection and Exchange

On April 21, a delegation of the UKM (in Malaysia:Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) visited Yantai High-Tech Zone to conduct exchanges and inspections in the fields of education and industry. Ms. Yu Hongling, member of the Yantai High-tech Zone Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee, and Mr. Gao Guangshun, the main person in charge of the aerospace and electronic information industry investment promotion department of the zone and chairman of Shandong Chuanghui Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., accompanied the delegation throughout the visit. They had in-depth exchanges on hot topics such as internationalization of education, industrial collaboration, and artificial intelligence, and jointly sought new opportunities for cooperative development.

The delegation visited the School of Artificial Intelligence Yantai Institute of Technology, UAV Training Center and other teaching and scientific research bases, and learned in detail about the high-tech zone's technical accumulation and industrial ecology in artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing. A pragmatic and fruitful discussion was held on how to promote in-depth cooperation between Chinese and Malaysian universities and enterprises in scientific research projects, talent training, and industrial transformation.

This inspection focused on two major themes: integration of industry and education and internationalization of education. It aims to explore the cooperation potential of complementary resource advantages between China and Malaysia and build a long-term strategic cooperation platform for the two countries in areas such as AI and higher education.

The UKM founded in 1970, is one of the five research universities in Malaysia. It ranks 138th in the world, 28th in Asia, and 2nd in Malaysia in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. It is the leading institution in education and scientific research in Malaysia.

As a demonstration zone for the transition to new from old economic engines in Shandong Province, Yantai High-tech Zone has a solid industrial foundation and superior educational and scientific research resources, and has highly compatible cooperation prospects with Malaysia in smart technology, international education and other aspects. In the future, the two sides will take this exchange as a starting point to promote complementary advantages, resource sharing, expand new space for education and industrial cooperation, and help build a new pattern of China-Malaysia cooperation.

Shandong Chuanghui Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. and the UKM have carried out in-depth cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics. As early as March 2025, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Malaysia to jointly promote the deep integration of AI and robotics technology, and implement the strategic blueprint for the joint construction of the China-Malaysia Intelligent Technology Industry Research Institute. This time, the UKM delegation visited the HQ of Chuanghui Electronics as in return, and the two sides further clarified the direction of cooperation.
