UAV search‑and‑rescue equipment

This device is mainly designed for special scenarios such as remote mountainous areas with no base stations and no mobile‑phone signals, as well as public‑network communication damage caused by natural disasters. Leveraging the operational advantages of industrial UAVs in the air, it can rapidly complete mobile‑phone signal collection, target identification and precise positioning within the coverage area. It is widely applied in missing‑person search‑and‑rescue, forest‑fire prevention patrols, illegal‑mining rectification, rare flora‑and‑fauna protection, gambling crackdown and fugitive pursuit. It provides reliable data support and trajectory‑analysis basis for field law‑enforcement patrols and emergency rescue operations.

    Application Background

In some mountainous areas, there is no mobile phone signal once off the main roads, making it impossible for people to contact the outside world via mobile phones. By mounting mobile‑phone signal acquisition and search‑and‑rescue equipment on UAVs, mobile phones can be searched and positioned. The system is applied to personnel search‑and‑rescue in signal‑free zones, forest fire prevention, gambling crackdowns and fugitive manhunts, illegal mineral exploitation monitoring, information collection and tracking for poaching of rare flora and fauna, as well as rescue data analysis and emergency search‑and‑rescue when operator mobile communication systems are damaged by sudden natural disasters.

Refer to the figure below for the system working principle:

The UAV‑mounted mobile phone signal acquisition equipment can obtain IMSI information within its coverage area. The collected IMSI data together with UAV latitude and longitude information are transmitted to the ground via long‑range independent data transmission links or UAV flight control links, and positions and trajectories are displayed in real time on the geographic information system of the ground station.

This product is designed and applied to meet the mounting requirements of mainstream industrial UAVs on the market, namely DJI M300/350. It is also compatible with models from other manufacturers whose payload capacity is higher than that of the M350.

     Product Introduction

The airborne equipment is connected to DJI M300 or M350 via rigid mechanical structures. It maintains stability without disengagement or shaking during UAV flight. Quick‑release structural components are adopted for fast installation and removal.

The figure below shows the physical photo of this product mounted on the M300 UAV.

The product structure consists of three stepped compartments. From top to bottom during flight: A. Data Transmission Compartment: internally equipped with data transmission module (air unit), antenna interface, power interface, network port, BD/GPS antenna interface, etc. B. 4G/5G Base Station Compartment: internally integrated with 2‑channel 5G plus 2‑channel 4G base stations and power amplifier modules, as well as a pair of network‑scanning synchronous antenna interfaces. C. Antenna Compartment: built‑in multi‑channel directional antennas, supporting frequency range from 700 MHz to 4960 MHz.

The product is mounted underneath the UAV through two structural modules: ‑ Quick‑release device: dedicated for M300/M350, enabling quick mounting and dismounting between equipment and UAV without tools. ‑ Rigid connection: this structural component matches the quick‑release device and equipment, offering higher reliability than screw‑bolt connections.

Product structural dimensions (excluding connecting parts): Length (UAV fore‑aft direction): ≤13 cm Width (UAV lateral direction): three sections of 12 cm / 17 cm / 22 cm (top to bottom) Height (UAV‑to‑ground direction): ≤13 cm Mounting clearance (including quick‑release mechanism): 6 cm Ground clearance after mounting: ≥5 cm (under the total height of 24 cm for M300 UAV)
